To be able to read all posts and see all photos you have to log in, these steps are translated from german so you should not take everything literally.First you need an Yahoo/Flickr account, in case you allready have an Yahoo account (but no Flickr) you can use it and only have to activate Flickr on it:
1. Go to http://flickr.com
2. Click Sign up
3. In case you have an Yahoo ID you write it in here and go on to step 7 (probably)
4. In case NOT: Sign up down to the right.
5. Here you need to write in a lot of personal information (or from your best friend).
6. Click: Create Account
7. On the next page you need to click: Next under ‘Fit for Flickr’.
8. Now you can write in your new user name and password to log in.
9. And since you still don’t have an Flickr account you need to click: Create new account
10. Now write the address: http://www.flickr.com/photos/gauteh/.
11. Hold the mouse over the small photo of me up to the left and click on the arrow.
12. Click Do you want to add Gaute as contact?
13. Mark Mark as friend or family and OK

To be able to use the same user name and password you need to activate OpenID.
1. Go to: http://openid.yahoo.com
2. Click: First steps
3. Sign in once more.
4. Write in the code you get and Accept
5. Click: Show personal options at the bottom.
6. Choose one of the alternatives, for instance: https://me.yahoo.com/[user name]
7. Click Save my personal options and Yes in the next window.
8. Now you need to go to: http://gaute.vetsj.com.
9. Up to the left you need to write: yahoo.com in the last field (the OpenID field, see image under).

10. Click: Login
11. Now you will be sent to Yahoo and might have to sign in again.
12. On the OpenID page from Yahoo you need to choose you ID, or let the first one as it is.
13. Click Sign in
14. Now you are sent back to gaute.vetsj.com and are signed in.

The next time you want to sign in to gaute.vetsj.com you just write in yahoo.com like on the image over and sometimes you need to write your user name and password on the page you are sent to, then you are sent back to gaute.vetsj.com; signed in.

On Flickr you write in the user name and password when you want to sign in.

Note that I need to accept you before you get access to the photos and posts, so you won’t notice a difference before I have had access to internet and had a chance to do that.

8. No kan du skrive inn ditt nye brukarnamn og passord og logge inn.
9. Og sidan du fortsatt ikkje har nokon Flickr konto klikker du på Create new account
10. No skriv du inn adressa: http://www.flickr.com/photos/gauteh/.
11. Hald musa over det små bilde av meg oppe til venstre og trykk på pila.
12. Klikk på Do you want to add Gaute as contact?
13. Marker Mark as friend eller family og OK

Og for at du skal kunne bruke det samme brukarnamnet og passordet må du aktivere OpenID.
1. Gå til http://openid.yahoo.com
2. Klikk på First steps
3. Logg inn på nytt.
4. Skriv inn koden du får vist og aksepter (agree).
5. Klikk på Show personal options heilt nede.
6. Velg eit av alternativa, til dømes: https://me.yahoo.com/[brukarnamn]
7. Klikk på Save my personal options og Yes i det neste vindauget.
8. No må du gå til: http://gaute.vetsj.com.
9. Oppe til venstre må du skrive inn: yahoo.com i det nederste feltet (OpenID feltet, sjå bilete under).

10. Klikk på Login
11. Du blir no sendt til Yahoo og må kanskje logge inn på nytt.
12. På OpenID sida til Yahoo velger du din ID, eller lar den først stå som den er.
13. Klikk på Sign in
14. Du blir no sendt tilbake til gaute.vetsj.com og er logga inn.

Når du seinare vil logge deg inn på gaute.vetsj.com skriv du ganske enkelt yahoo.com inn som vist på bildet over og må av og til skrive inn brukarnamn og passord på sida du blir sendt til, før du blir sendt tilbake til gaute.vetsj.com

På Flickr skriv du inn brukarnamnet og passordet når du vil logge deg inn.

Hugs at du ikkje kjem til å merke noken forskjell før eg har hatt tilgang til internett og har hatt moglegheit til å gje deg tilgang til innlegg og bilete.

Zu erst brauchst du eine Yahoo/Flickr konto, falls du eine Yahoo konto schon haben (aber keine Flickr) kannst du die alte benutzen um Flickr auf diser zu aktivieren:

8. Jetzt kannst du mit deine neue benutzername und passwort einloggen.
9. Und weil du noch keinen Flickr account hättest druckst du jetzt auf Neuen Account Erstellen
10. Jetzt gibst du die adresse: http://www.flickr.com/photos/gauteh/ ein
11. Halt die Maus über das kleine Foto oben links von mir, druck auf die Pfeil.
12. Klick auf Möchten Sie gauteh als Kontakt hinzufügen
13. Markier Als Freund kennzeichnen und OK

Damit du die gleiche benutzerdaten auf meine seite benutzen kannst muss du erstmal OpenID aktivieren.
1. Geh zu http://openid.yahoo.com
2. Klick auf Erste Schritte
3. Nochmal einloggen
4. Geb die angezeigte Code ein und stimm zu.
5. Klick auf Optionen für die Personalisierung anzeigen ganz unten.
6. Nimm einer von die alternativen, zum Beispiel: https://me.yahoo.com/[benutzername]
7. Klick auf Meine Personalisirungen speichern und Ja in das nächste Fenster.
8. Jetzt muss du zu http://gaute.vetsj.com gehen (wo du wahrscheinlich gerade bist).
9. In das feld oben rechts wo man sich einloggen kann, schreibst du yahoo.com in das letzte feld.

10. Klick auf Login
11. Du wirst dann nocmal zu Yahoo geschickt und muss möglicherweise nochmal einloggen.
12. Auf die OpenID seite von Yahoo suchst du deine ID aus, oder lässt die erste stehen.
13. Klick auf Anmelden
14. Du wirst dann zurückgeschickt nach gaute.vetsj.com und bist eingeloggt.

Wenn du später bei gaute.vetsj.com dich einloggen willst gibst du yahoo.com wie bei ersten mal ein, dann musst du villeich bei Yahoo deine benutzerdaten eingeben.

Bei Flickr gibst du deine Yahoo daten ein wenn du dich einloggen willst.

Du wirdst aber kein unterschied sehen bevor Ich internetzugang hatte und dich zugang zu meinem fotos und reisebriefe gegeben habe.

I managed to manually merge the mppc patch into kernel 2.6.24 and ppp-2.4.4 using a modified version made for 2.6.23 from Devil Linux. And I updated the kernel26 and ppp PKGBUILDs for Arch Linux to use them.

I had a VPN with mppc running and could comfortably ssh to the machines on the network, but I am unsure about the stability.. this has been extremely little tested, so take care..
Usage is explained on the official site for the original patch: http://mppe-mppc.alphacron.de/ usage of PPTP on Arch Linux in the wiki. For Arch you probably need ppp-mppe and pptpclient.

mppc is patented and if you feel like you should have a look if you are allowed to use it.

A small script that rewrites the command it gets as argument, passing any further arguments on, to send stdout and stderr to a log file that is rotated on each run.

Remember to edit the logdir variable to your settings (keep a trailing / or the last part will be prepended to the logfile). The keep variable controls how many old logs should be kept. The command name is prepended to each logfile.

I decided that many of my posts and entries should not be open for everybody to read, the same way as the photos. And since the posts almost always include photos from Flickr you would need to log in anyway.

If you signed up for an account on Flickr/Yahoo! so that you could watch all my photos you can use that account to log in here. This is done through something called OpenID which Yahoo supports, you just needs to activate it. This you do here: http://openid.yahoo.com. Your OpenID is an identity that can be used throughout the web so that you have the same identity on all sites you use it on.

When you have activated your OpenID on Yahoo! you get an URL or link to your identity, something like: me.yahoo.com/a/[lots of stuff] and you can create your own URL, like: me.yahoo.com/[your name] or http://www.flickr.com/photos/[user name]. This URL is your identifier. If you are using Yahoo you need to out yahoo.com in the OpenID field when you want to log in for instance on gaute.vetsj.com. Then you will be redirected to a page where you need to authorize gaute.vetsj.com to be able to access your profile and choose which URL or identity you want to use. Then you are redirected back to gaute.vetsj.com and are logged in as this. And every time you want to log in you just put in yahoo.com in the OpenID box.

When that is done you just need to wait until I have noticed that you are registered and I allow you to read all items I post here.

Of course you can use your OpenID on any other site that allows it.

If you don’t want to use Yahoo!’s OpenID you might want to try one of the others (or you might allready have one somewhere else). Note that on most other providers you put your identity url in the OpenID box, ie: yourname.myopenid.com and not just myopenid.com like with yahoo.com.
